About the event

Join the Brussels Chamber Choir this March for a special concert honouring the music of Arvo Pärt. The Estonian composer is one of the most-performed and best-loved living composers. His meditative and enigmatic music has brought serenity, inspiration and comfort to millions, across borders, beliefs and faiths. The Brussels Chamber Choir has selected several of his most moving compositions for a cappella choir, as well as his magical The Beatitudes for choir and organ. To accompany his music, our programme will include works from the Orthodox choral tradition by Chesnokov and Rachmaninoff. We will also feature contrasting music by another favourite Estonian composer, Urmas Sisask. And we will perform sublime works by English composers John Tavener and Jonathan Dove, both of whom share Pärt’s minimalist style, his dreamy, other-worldly aesthetics, and his ability to touch the hearts of all. We very much look forward to sharing this beautiful music with our Brussels audience on 23 March.
