About the event
Our carefully constructed programme features compositions that evoke the beauty and mystery of the night sky. In our usual fashion, we like to combine the old and the new. You will hear the lush late-Romantic harmonies of Max Reger, Edvard Grieg and Engelbert Humperdinck, as well as new arrangements, by Jan Moeyaert, of well-known songs by Manuel de Falla and Claude Debussy. We hope you will be seduced by the works of young American composers Elaine Hagenberg and Jake Runestad, and are as excited as we are to hear the world première of Fraser Sharp’s “The Cloud-Capp’d Towers”. You will hopefully be stunned by Ligeti’s haunting choral masterpiece “Éjszaka” and by the dazzling simplicity of Daniel Elder's "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star".
